Current streakDays in a row. With one day of grace.

Writing streaks count the days in a row Falcontext saw you add words. Miss one day and yours survives. Miss two in a row and it starts again.

What counts as a day

A day counts once Falcontext has seen you actually write something. One word is enough. Opening or scanning the document isn’t.

Days follow your computer’s clock and time zone, and change at midnight. Haven’t written yet today? Your streak isn’t broken until today ends.

Writing streaks get one day of grace

Life happens. Miss one day and your streak survives: the panel calls it a streak freeze. Miss two in a row and it resets.

There’s one freeze per streak. Missed a day last week and another this week? The streak counts back to the first gap, no further.

Only the days you reach your goal

One word keeps a streak going. Want it to ask more? Tick Streak: only days I meet my daily goal in Settings → Daily time goal, and a day counts once your words reach your daily goal, or your minutes reach your time goal (in Pro), whichever comes first. The day of grace stays. It’s free; on the free plan, a day counts by your words.

It counts the days met from when you have Falcontext 6.0. Your records and badges keep going by the usual streak.

Writing Falcontext doesn’t see

Wrote on your phone, in an app Falcontext isn’t in? Those words still add to your total. They count on the day Falcontext next sees the document, not the day you wrote them. So a day it never sees can still break your streak.

Want Falcontext to notice without opening it? In the browser extension’s Settings, “Count without opening Falcontext” keeps counting in Google Docs, Ellipsus and Atticus, for documents it has counted before.

Editing counts too

Revising is writing. Days you revise count towards your editing streak, on the Edit tab: a scene you ticked yourself, or words revised or removed. Ticks Falcontext makes for you, when a scene’s checks are all green, don’t count.

Writing streaks per document, with records and badges

Each document has its own streak. In a manuscript, the streak covers all its documents together.

Your longest writing streak and longest editing streak are kept as personal records. And there are badges along the way: 3, 7, 14, 21, 30, 60, 100, 180 and 365 days, on any plan.

Falcontext’s Current streak card: 10 days in a row, one streak freeze used, with the recent trend of the total word count below it.

Questions about writing streaks.

What happens if I miss a day?

Your streak survives one missed day, once per streak. Miss two days in a row and it resets.

Do words I write on my phone count?

They add to your total, and count towards your streak on the day Falcontext next sees the document, not the day you wrote them.
