Reedsy Studio word count trackerYour Reedsy word count, day by day, and every chapter checked

Coming in the next update of Falcontext’s browser extension. Reedsy Studio (the Reedsy Book Editor) keeps your Reedsy word count and a manuscript goal with a deadline. Falcontext picks up that goal, keeps your streak, and checks every chapter at once for slips, like eyes that change colour.

What the next update adds to the Reedsy word count

Reedsy Studio gives you

  • A word count, and a manuscript goal with a deadline
  • Chapters, front and back matter, and Parts
  • Smart text: curly quotation marks as you type

Falcontext adds

  • Every chapter checked at once. The Edit tab reads the whole book from Reedsy’s page, without opening each chapter: what Reedsy lists under Body, front and back matter left out. The bar steps from chapter to chapter.
  • Your Reedsy goal, picked up. The manuscript’s goal and deadline fill in by themselves, with the words a day you need and the book’s title.
  • Words today and a streak. Each day’s words count toward your goal and your streak, with Falcontext closed too: allow Reedsy under Count without opening Falcontext in Settings.
  • Fix, typed into Reedsy. A doubled word, or a stronger verb for an adverb, typed in as you would. Ctrl+Z takes it back.
  • Chapters and scenes mapped. Bird’s Eye takes your Prologue, chapters and Epilogue in order, and Reedsy’s scene breaks as scenes.
  • Focus Mode that clears Reedsy (Pro). The chapter list, top bar and right-hand panel go, and your chapter sits in the middle, full screen.
  • One count, wherever you write. Your streak and lifetime words add up across Reedsy, Google Docs and every other editor Falcontext works in.

Falcontext reads the book from Reedsy’s page, in your own tab. Your writing is never sent anywhere, and no AI is used on your writing in any way. How your data is handled.

Questions about the Reedsy word count and Falcontext

Does Reedsy Studio check grammar or story slips?

Falcontext does, from its next update: every chapter at once, for slips like a name spelled two ways, a tense slip or a doubled word, each marked in your text. Rules and word lists, no AI.

How do I track my Reedsy word count every day?

From the next update: open a chapter in Reedsy Studio and click the Falcontext icon. It keeps today’s words, your streak and your Reedsy goal.
